In 2026 Italy will once again take center stage in an event that promises to leave its mark, with athletes from all over the world, belonging to 206 delegations: we are talking about the Winter Olympics. Milan and Cortina will join forces to host an event that will not be just sport, but a true tale of emotions, shared stories and landscapes. On the one hand the creative, modern imagination of Milan, on the other the timeless beauty of the Dolomites.
Two different worlds, united by the common vision of turning the Games into an unforgettable experience.
But in the Olympic framework there will also be the mountains of Valtellina, the ice of Alto Adige, the Trentino slopes, and places such as Livigno, Anterselva, Bormio, Baselga di Piné and the Val di Fiemme. They will indeed be ready to welcome athletes and spectators, showing the most authentic and spectacular side of Alpine Italy. Each race will be an opportunity to experience a unique atmosphere, amid snow, applause, silences heavy with tension, and goals pursued with the efforts of an entire life.
Milano-Cortina 2026 sarà un’esperienza che guarda avanti: non ci sarà spreco ma valorizzazione. La maggior parte degli impianti sarà riutilizzata, adattata , rinnovata. Un modo intelligente per rispettare l’ambiente e lasciare qualcosa di concreto ai territori.
Non solo sport quindi, ma anche infrastrutture, mobilità e servizi, che miglioreranno la vita di chi vive in montagna, anche dopo la fine dei Giochi.
It will be hard to remain indifferent. There will be over 3,500 athletes from 93 countries, ready to challenge each other over 16 days of competition. There will be the pure adrenaline of alpine skiing, with dizzying descents and hair-raising turns; the elegant technique of cross-country skiing and figure skating; the power of ice hockey; the precision of biathlon; the balance of ski jumping; the speed of short track; the creativity of freestyle snowboarding; and the determination of bobsleigh, skeleton and luge. Each event will have its moment, made of endless training, sacrifices and dreams, concentrated into a few, very intense seconds.
And when the Olympic flame goes out, the baton will pass to the Winter Paralympics. In March, extraordinary athletes will show how courage and determination can overcome any limit. It will be an anthem to inclusion and resilience.
Verona sarà il punto d’incontro tra la fine e l’inizio, il luogo in cui si saluteranno le Olimpiadi e si accoglieranno le Paralimpiadi. L’Arena, con le sue pietre millenarie illuminate dalla sera, diventerà palcoscenico per la cerimonia di chiusura dei Giochi Olimpici, un arrivederci emozionante a giorni di gare e imprese memorabili. Pochi giorni dopo, lo stesso Anfiteatro, aprirà le sue porte, per dare il benvenuto agli atleti paralimpici, accogliendo la Fiamma dopo un lungo viaggio in tutta italia. Sarà un passaggio di testimone che unisce tradizione e inclusione, con un’Arena pronta a trasformarsi in un simbolo di sport.

Those who come to follow the races will be able to discover the soul of our lands, among warm mountain huts, typical dishes, snow-covered villages and sincere hospitality. And those who follow everything from home will still feel part of a great collective adventure.

Milano-Cortina 2026 non sarà solo Giochi, ma un’occasione per vivere un qualcosa di grande insieme, riscoprendo quanto sia forte il potere di sognare in grande.
