A balcony suspended between the sky and Lake Garda
Among the lesser known yet most stunning wonders of Lake Garda, is a place that offers intense emotions and spectacular views. A breathtaking panoramic point that defies gravity, suspended over 350 meters above the lake. Located in Tremosine sul Garda, a truly picturesque village, we find the “Terrace del Brivido”, a panoramic platform with an incomparable view.
Imagine standing at the edge of a vertical wall, your gaze sweeping from the deep blue of the lake up to the peaks of Monte Baldo, where silence mixed with the wind and your heartbeat quickens, not only because of the altitude, but also due to the overwhelming beauty of the landscape. The panoramic platform offers a unique perspective that gives that sensation of flying above the lake. On clear days, the views reaches as far as “Lower Garda”, and even the most seasoned travelers cannot help but to be left speechless.
The experience begins even before arrival, while traveling along the “Strada della Forra”, called by many “the most beautiful road in the world” and even “the eighth wonder of the world” by Winston Churchill. This route, carved into the rock and winding through canyons and natural tunnels, is a true feat of engineering embedded in the gorge of Brasa steam, leading visitors to the small village of Pieve di Tremosine, where the terrace is located.
Designed and Imagined by Arturo Cozzaglio at the beginning of 20th century it has often been the setting of commercials, photoshoots, and even a filming location for the James Bond movie ”Quantum of Solace”. Its stunning beauty has required safety work in recent years, especially during holidays, or in bad weather. In fact, it is currently closed due to a landslide that occurred on April 16 2023.
Beyond the view, the natural surroundings of the terrace are equally fascinating:green meadows, hidden waterfalls, and a network of trails allows you to explore Upper Garda in all its variety. There is no shortage of chances to enjoy local cuisine in panoramic restaurants, where even a simple cheese platter turns into a celebration of flavors.
