L\u2019oro liquido di D\u2019Annunzio<\/strong><\/p>\n

C\u2019\u00e8 un liquore che racchiude in s\u00e9 il profumo dell\u2019Abruzzo, e la visione estetica di un poeta.<\/p>\n

It is called Aurum, and we are not talking about a simple beverage, but about an idea, an image, an emotion in a bottle. Everything began in the early twentieth century, when Amedeo Pomilio, an enlightened entrepreneur, decided to create a liqueur based on brandy and orange infusion<\/strong>. The name was inspired by none other than the poet, novelist, playwright, soldier, and lover of luxury and provocation, Gabriele D\u2019Annunzio.<\/p>\n

D\u2019Annunzio was one of the most complex and versatile figures of the early twentieth-century Italy, and it was he himself who suggested uniting the word \u201caurum,\u201d gold in Latin, and \u201caurantium,\u201d the fruit from which the liqueur\u2019s citrus aroma derives. It is a refined linguistic play, typical of the poet, which encapsulates within itself the elegance of the beverage, its bond with the land, and the poetic identity of an era.<\/strong><\/p>\n

L’Aurum conquista il palato degli italiani e diventa\u00a0 presto uno dei simboli della tradizione abruzzese, spesso gustato in abbinamento al “parrozzo”, dolce natalizio a base di mandorle e cioccolato, anch’esso legato alla figura del Vate. D\u2019Annunzio, aveva\u00a0 intuito qualcosa che in quegli anni pochi ancora comprendevano: il nome, il racconto, l\u2019immagine attorno a un prodotto, potevano valere quanto, se non pi\u00f9, della materia prima.\u00a0L\u2019Aurum \u00e8 infatti un piccolo manifesto di quella che fu la visione dannunziana dell\u2019italia: estetica, sensuale e legato al territorio.<\/p>\n

Per comprendere davvero quanto fosse profondo il legame tra estetica e vita di d\u2019Annunzio, basta guardare a ci\u00f2 che lasci\u00f2 come lascito materiale: \u201cil Vittoriale degli Italiani\u201d.\u00a0Situato a Gardone Riviera sulle rive del lago di Garda.\u00a0Il Vittoriale non \u00e8 una semplice casa, bens\u00ec uno scrigno. Ogni angolo \u00e8 un\u2019estensione del suo pensiero, del suo modo di vivere e rappresentarsi, in cui la vita quotidiana si fondeva con la messa in scena di s\u00e9.<\/p>\n

It is here that one grasps the most profound sense of the bond between D\u2019Annunzio and Aurum.<\/strong> For d\u2019Annunzio, everything\u2014whether a room, a speech, a military uniform or a liqueur\u2014had to represent an ideal. Even just a glass could become poetry if the contents were conceived, narrated and elevated to a symbol; and in this, Aurum is truly D\u2019Annunzian: evocative, profound, built to seduce the senses and leave an echo in memory.<\/p>\n

Today Aurum also lives as historical memory inside a building in Pescara<\/strong> which once was the headquarters of the distillery, and which today has been converted into a cultural space. The place is still called \u201cAurum \u2013 La fabbrica delle idee\u201d, and it hosts events, exhibitions and concerts, but it also preserves a small music section, the \u201cSala Pomilio\u201d, where the old alembics, historic bottles and archival materials are kept. It is a discreet but significant tribute to the history of this product and to the world from which it comes.<\/p>\n

Entrare in contatto con una visione, quella di un\u2019italia che voleva sognare in grande, che credeva nel potere dell\u2019arte, della parola e dell\u2019identit\u00e0.
